Mother Board help Empty
PostSubject: Mother Board help   Mother Board help EmptyFri Jan 04, 2008 10:27 pm

i'm re-doing my desktop computer, and i'm just asking for an opinion on a mother board. I want it to run Intel Duo or Intel Quatro Duo processors. I want a minimum of 2 gigs of ram.
And under $300 please

Every suggestion is a big help Smile, thanks!

O.k....
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product_Id=4207271&JRSource=shopzilla.datafeed.GIG+GAG33MDS2R
That's the motherboard. It is a fairly good one- and it leaves a fair bit for the rest.
The quad core processes still cost a lot. For a 2.4 GHZ Quad costs somthing like $280-
So A 3.0 GHZ Petium D should do for the best biggest games.

And ram.....
8 GB max

Now- all of the parts SHOULD be compatible. They also should be under the price by a bit. Remember about the shipping costs- and the fact that your power supply may not be able to even plug into the motherboard- let alone power it.

thanks for that matt, i'll look into those parts. i'll still wait for a couple more replies before i settle on anything yet. Let me know if you come across anything else meanwhile...i am open for ALL suggestions Smile.

Just for a little background info, i'm very computer knowledged, so i know my way around the parts and companies and all...but i'm simply trying to see if theres others like me that perhaps know a little bit more Smile.

This will go over the ammound specified:

Here is a nice motherboard- costs a fair bit- but it can take up to 8GB of DDR2 Ram- and it can also handle the new quads

And here is a 2.4 GHZ quad
http://www.keenzo.com/showproduct.asp?ID=926437

And then there is a nice case (don't know if it will fit)
http://www.keenzo.com/showproduct.asp?ID=790355

And then the power for it all:

And then the cool graphics card
http://www.keenzo.com/showproduct.asp?ID=1160480

Now- that costs way over the ammount that you want- but it gives you a fast computer
