| lol. Violent games, Harry Potter, and all of those other things that seem questionable. My take on all of that is left up to the person's discretion. It all depends on the person's spirit behind it. If they are playing violent games because it's feeding some secret need to kill or see blood in a shooting spree or watching Harry Potter because they want to become witches and spit out incantations of magical things, then they shouldn't, because that's the wrong spirit. Now, if they’re playing the violent games or watching HP for its entertainment value as just a game to kill time, have fun, or to enjoy a well done movie, then I don’t see a problem. Sometimes I’ll pull out my old N64 and play games like Mortal Kombat just for fun, but I’m not in it for the killing. Every once in a while I’ll pull out Harry Potter, but I’m watching it because it’s got a good story line, the music’s fantastic and just a fun movie to watch, not for the wizardry and all that other crap.
I think you just have pray for God to reveal to you whether you can handle playing or watching that kind of stuff without falling into the wrong spirit, or if you’re fairly well self observant of where you know your strengths and weaknesses spiritually, use your good judgment to play or watch. If you’re strong enough in spirit, then go for it. If you’re unsure, then don’t.
Now, I would like to make mention that this is just for this case only. You can’t apply this to something like porn. “Oh I’m strong enough in the spirit to watch it just for its entertainment quality or I won’t fall into anything sexually” because that’s a load of garbage, because one, porn isn’t right, anything of immoral values shouldn’t even be considered. Of course, that’s just one example and there are plenty others, I think most are just a matter of common sense, hopefully.
Once again, this is just my take on these subjects and doesn't make them right, this is what has been revealed to me and I go off of this =D and also, i'd like to hear yalls thoughts on this and also just what you have to say to vash's original question

| I don't think it's wrong to play most of those games. You could ask if any of that gives glory to God, and none of it does, so we shouldn't take part in it. But I don't feel like my participation in that kind of stuff takes away from God or causes me or anyone else to stumble. I think most of it is harmless. There are some games that are a little overboard though. Bad language and sexually oriented material should be avoided, in my opinion. | |

| yes justin, i totally agree...like Grand Theft Auto is a game that Christians, really shouldn't play at all...its language and theme is totally obscure.
Totally agree with you Justin

| I definately agree that some games are just not appropriate and I'm thankful for clean servers out there where others can come together and not worry about inappropriate language and inappropriate content.
Blessed be,
